2004 OUA Track & Field Championships
The Queen's track team set a new team record for most medals. In total 5 Gold, 1 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals were won by the team. Gold medallists were Anne Barrington (1000m), Jonathan Martin (Long Jump), Mike Melaney (Shot Put), Mike Melaney (Weight Throw), Beth Wightman (3000m). The lone silver medal won at the OUA's was brought home by Anne Barrington (1500m). Bronze medals were brought home by Lance Mukoro (High Jump), Corey Trudeau (Shot Put & Weight Throw), Bill Woods (Triple Jump & Long Jump), and the Women's 4x800 Relay Team (Vera Cummings, Beth Wightman, Margaret Cummings, Anne Barrington).
Over all, the men's team placed 3rd in the OUA while the women's placed 5th. The team received 6 OUA All Star recognitions: Mike Melaney (for both Shot Put & Weight Throw), Beth Wightman (3000m), Anne Barrington (1000 & 1500 m), Jonathan Martin (Long Jump. By virtue of a double gold performance, Mike Melaney was recognized as the OUA Field Athlete of the Meet.
